When you are making the rear wall, ensure that you leave a 2-inch space so that it is easy to make the roof strut solid. Construct the wall frame with 2×4 boards and leave some space at the entrance. Now, using ½” plywood, frame the exterior of the walls and nail it together from the corners, and leave sufficient space at the front for the dog to enter.

Now you have to construct the roof. For this, cut the roof struts according to the dog’s height. For the frame of the roof, make four evenly spaced holes on the sides of the board and nail it on the frame of the rest of the house. Now, using the plywood, nail the walls of the roof and place it on the top of the house, firmly.

Finally, you have to customize the dog house. For a final touch, paint the wood inside and outside. Inside the house, use durable carpeting so it can withstand the mud and dirt your dog brings into the shelter. This will also help give insulation to your dog house during the winter months.
