Stones as Anniversary Gifts.
I was born in a district where were a lot of mines, caves and quarries. That’s why I’m used to going there with my powerful flashlight. I like to wander along dark tunnels of old mines targeting my way with a beam of light. I’m not afraid of darkness. Moreover it attracts me. There’s something mysterious in the darkness. I hate the sun light. I always try to make my room completely dark by shutting the shutters. Darkness makes me feel secure.

There’s one extra thing that I like in mines and other underground housings. There’re a lot of various stones there. I like things made by nature. Stones belong to nature. I’ve heard that a certain science makes stones the object of its research. I think they are worth to be explored. From ancient times stones are believed to have quite magical properties. I think so.

My father also likes stones. We often visit caves in order to feel the spirit of adventure. When wandering there I always try to hide some stones in such a way that my father can’t notice it. Then I’ll tell you why I always hide stones from my father. My father has been exploring various stones since his graduation from the college. Previously I thought that stones can’t have their own names. But that was my huge mistake. Stones have very sophisticated names. It’s very difficult for me to memorize their names. But my father can. He’s got a lot of books which describe different stones.

I think that stones can be quite desirable gifts. I always keep in mind that presenting stones to somebody is equivalent to giving a part of nature. So making somebody a present of stones is a sacred and magical act, I think. Some stones can give a sort of medical treatment to people. I still can’t understand how a thing which is not alive can be a doctor! For instance, let’s look closer at amber. It’s a unique stone with certain healing properties. I consider a necklace, made of amber to be rather appropriate gift for somebody’s anniversary. It’s believed to protect its owner from the negative energy which can be emitted by evil people. Moreover, this necklace can prevent many diseases. And what’s more this will be simply a beautiful gift for anniversary.

So I’m going to present stones to my parents soon. I’ll give them completely different gifts to each other. My mother will be given this necklace, made of amber. But my father will get a collection of stones, which is composed of those ones, gathered by me in different caves. As I have already told these stones were hidden by me in order to make a surprise to my father for his 20th Anniversary.
