Secrets To A Lean Body: After Workout Nutrition

The meal you eat after working out is probably the day’s most important. You’re always looking for ways on how to lose weight fast, but at this time you should take special care. Your cortisol levels are breaking down muscle and your muscle’s glycogen level has been exhausted.

You are in a catabolic state (a bad thing) that needs to be reversed into an anabolic state (a good thing) by eating a meal after your workout that is easily digested.The carbs will restore your muscles’ glycogen and the protein will help supply amino acids to repair your muscle.

Your pancreas will release nutrients into the muscle cells as a result of the influx of insulin caused by the carbohydrates and amino acids from your meal.The meal after your workout should be from 300-500 calories to be effective. This depends on weight of course.The meal should contain a carbohydrate-protein ration of 2:1 to 4:1.

This meal should be very low in fat, since fat will slow down digestion.The most important thing to realize is that you don’t need any of the advertised after workout supplements: natural food is better.

Honey, pineapple, raisins or organic maple syrup are great sources of carbohydrates that can be digested easily.The insulin response I just mentioned depends on this.

For protein that can be easily digested, try whey protein that has not been denatured with some fat free yogurt.

Banana Chocolate Smoothie. Mix up 1-1/2 frozen bananas with a cup of water and a 1/2 cup of skim milk.Add in organic maple syrup (2 tablespoons) and chocolate whey protein (30 grams).This solution will give you half a gram of fat, protein: 38 grams, carbohydrates:72 grams, for a total of 440 calories.

Pineapple vanilla smoothie.Mix together a cup of water, vanilla yogurt (1/2 cup), frozen pineapples (1 cup), raw honey (2 tablespoons), and vanilla whey protein (30 grams).This results in 425 calories with half a gram of fat, 71 grams of carbs, and 35 grams of protein.

You will need a post workout meal that is reverse from your other meals.Healthy fats, proteins that are released slowly, low glycemic carbs characterize your normal meals and should contrast with what you eat after working out.

Managing your meal after working out is a strategy that is essential to creating the lean, strong body you’re looking for.One thing before I go: you can satisfy your sweet tooth after your workout since the sugar will go to your muscles, not to your gut…. cherish it!

At some point, everyone finds themselves wondering what the best form of cardio excercise is. In words that you can understand, low along with high concentration of body exertion will assist you to cut off body overweight. The question here is which is the most effective to burn off more body fat.

The body uses up more calories when you perform high intensity exercises like running. It doesn’t matter if some of the calories used are from glycogen, it still burns many fat calories also.

For adding icing on the cake, when a person’s store of glycogen is less, the carbohydrates from the food that is consumed will later become glycogen to fill the store and will not act as body fat when they are not used.

Although you are done with your workout this high intensity cardio exercise will juice up your metabolism rate. What this means, is that your body will continue to burn body fat hours after you have left the gym. This hardly ever happens during low intensity workouts.

On average your body will use up more calories from high intensity cardio workouts than low intensity ones.

If you use a method called interval training you can use some high intensity movements into your cardio workout. You can walk for 5 minutes or so, then break into some jogging for another 5 minutes or so. To start with walk briskly until you have caught up with your bredth and then again sprint for a minute and start again. From this point, simply alternate your running and walking for the next 15 minutes until you are finished.

Perhaps the greatest thing about cardio is that the more frequent you exercise, the more energy you will have. Cardio will help you to burn calories, although its more useful for keeping your energy levels high.

Cardio is worth a try even for beginners. If you enjoy exercise, you’ll see that cardio is the best choice for keeping in shape and increasing your energy. If you have just started with your cardio exercise go slow and keep a track and don’t overdo or exert yourself as it is very easy to do so.
